I am still at the beginning of my journey towards sustainable fashion. In Cyprus (where I live) recently I discovered two local designers who are showing that style and sustainability can go hand in hand. I am talking about Georgia Moditi and Michalis Pantelides.
Georgia Moditi: Apparel for the Ease of Consciousness
If you’ve ever wanted to wear something that represents feminine identity, classic appeal and contemporary expressions, Georgia Moditi’s designs are just that. I love the unique style of her pieces that feel timeless yet fresh.
Georgia often works with natural, eco-friendly materials, carefully choosing fabrics that honor the environment. All clothes are made by women here in Cyprus. The brand represent feminine identity, a classic appeal and contemporary expressions, favouring pattern-cutting for ease-of-wear day and night.

Michalis Pantelides: Redefining Fashion with Sustainable Textiles
Michalis Pantelides is another trailblazer reshaping fashion in Cyprus. His designs feel like wearable art, blending sustainability with storytelling. Michalis experiments with innovative materials and ethical production processes, always mindful of reducing waste and respecting the planet. The material he uses for his creations is made from plastic bottles (!).
His work celebrates Cypriot heritage while pushing the boundaries of sustainable design. Whether he’s crafting garments that showcase natural dyes or repurposing fabrics into new creations, Michalis reminds us that fashion can be both creative and conscious. I am simply in love with his creations.

Why Sustainable Fashion Matters in Cyprus
Living on an island as beautiful as Cyprus, it’s easy to feel connected to nature — the sparkling sea, the sun-drenched mountains, the ancient olive groves. Choosing sustainable fashion is one way we can protect this paradise. By supporting local designers who prioritize ethical practices, we contribute to a healthier planet and keep our cultural traditions alive.
Plus, sustainable fashion invites us to slow down and be more intentional with what we wear. Instead of chasing fast fashion trends, we can invest in quality pieces made with care, knowing they’ll last for years to come.
